Humans in the Enviornment- Sofia

Although none of these photos were necessarily intentionally posed, I really enjoyed the variety of moments I captured of people interacting with the environment in different ways. Throughout these individual moments, the overarching feeling that is captured is a sense of peacefulness and admiration for nature. There is a feeling of connection in these photos that comes from sharing the experience of nature's beauty with others.

The first photo was taken during an incredible sunset that I could not stop photographing. I was so enamored by the sunset that I hadn't realized how many people had gathered on the beach since we had arrived there. The photo captures just a few people admiring the sunset, and I find it so wonderful that people gather to marvel at nature together. There's something very special about collectively seeing something so beautiful and sharing that moment. One of the best ways humans can interact with the environment is by admiring it.

In the second photo, two of my friends were singing and playing guitar at Boulevard Park. Although it is hard to convey this type of sensation through a photo, creating art and music in nature is a very inspiring feeling. It's so peaceful to take time and practice the things you enjoy in such a beautiful setting and to perform with no audience except nature.

In my opinion, one of the greatest feelings is the warmth of a raging fire on a chilly night. Although the photo of my friends around the fire is not necessarily a perfect shot, and I wish I had used different settings so the fire was not so overexposed, I still love the light and warmth captured in the photo. The way the firelight is glowing and reflecting off of them creates this warm, cozy feeling that comes from sitting around a fire in the cold. I adjusted my camera settings in the last photo, and I love how defined the flames are. The way they separate and spark at the top against the darkness is so beautiful. The glow of firelight in a photo creates a warmth that can really be sensed just by observing it.
