I took these photos near my house and I got a couple of sets of different subjects throughout the day, but I thought these were the most landscape-oriented. I tried different settings throughout the day, but ultimately the three photos I selected during the day came out to be with the same settings still looking normal. I suspect this was because I was pointing it in a bright area, so any higher ISO and it would have been too dark. The second photo seems overexposed, but I'm not sure why exactly. I might have had a different white balance, but I didn't change it for these photos, as far as I remember (or I failed to record if I did). I also could have done a better job focusing the photos. For the last photo, it had definitely gotten too dark by the time I came out to do my last set of pictures. Thinking back on it, I could have tried some alternative methods to get the same exact angle and shot as the previous ones. Nevertheless, I settled on photographing the nearby Himalayan blackberry bush that I had been using as another subject throughout the day, but trying to capture an interesting photo in roughly the same angle. I eventually found this shot with the moon between the leaves. I liked the unfocused moon but maybe it draws too much focus from the leaves, which I highlighted with a small flashlight rather than the camera flash.

Of course, it was uniformly cloudy throughout the day as we merged out of false Spring and back into the last rainy month of winter. Yet, in the morning, the sun shines through the fog, which is always beautiful. What would otherwise be a thoroughly grey, green, and brown, is broken up by flashes of color in the birds throughout the day, or the occassional yearlong colorful plant. Some of my other pictures focused on these colorful aspects throughout the day, but were more close-ups than landscapes. Ultimately, I think that the landscape photos are quintisentially wintertime in the Pacific Northwest.
