Study of water - a etc
For this project, I played with different perspectives relative to the water, close, far, in movement, and still. As well as what beauty I can find in the inhabitants of said water. These pictures were taken on January 30th at roughly 10:30am using my Nikon d3300.
The beach we visited is a beautiful little coast off Bellingham and the Salish Sea. It was relatively calm the day we went, but grey and cold with winds that could whip up the tide. Water lapped up the shore of the surprisingly sanding beach, indicating strikingly large tidal activity for the area. Yet still there were plenty of rocks which broke the tide, offering shelter for a variety of sea-born life clinging to the rocks and lounging among rock pools. Further up we finally reach the cemetery of driftwood, acting as the penultimate barrier to the battered and flaky hillside, drilled through with roots of coniferous trees.
What I found most difficult was capturing water in motion, I am still trying to get the hang of using shutter speed to reduce the blur on fast-moving photos. When I managed I believed the images came out adequate to even beautiful. As you might tell close-ups are beginning to grow on me.
